The name Cedar Mill refers to the historic logging district in Portland where workers wore exactly this type of shirt to face Oregon winters.

In Earth Plaid—a tartan of earthy tones, brown, khaki, and rust on a dark background—it wears the colors of the Oregon territory in autumn and winter.
