The Filson Canvas Outfitter Jacket is the essential mid-season piece from the Seattle-based brand—a densely woven canvas cotton jacket that works equally well as a heavy overshirt or a light mid-season jacket. Its "outfitter" name refers to the hunting and fishing guides who equipped their clients with Filson gear before every expedition into the American West's great outdoors.
The dense cotton canvas resists brambles, abrasion from undergrowth, and contact with outdoor equipment. The large gusseted patch pockets on the sides and the chest pocket offer functional storage capacity. The straight, loose fit allows for layering—a thick sweater or a mid-layer can be worn underneath without tension. Available in Kangaroo—Filson's signature warm beige—and Blue Mussel—a natural slate blue.
